Dinosaur Doubles - Flash Cards

Doubling and Halving Flash CardsWe have taken one of our most popular bonds to 10 flash card set and reinvented them as a doubling and halving resource.

Here we have 12 double-sided flash cards featuring a friendly triceratops. On his back he is displaying a number, turn him around to show that he is chewing his way through double that number.

Instant maths flash card fun, from double 1 = 2, right up to double 12 = 24.

When made up each card is A7 in size. However, the image quality is high so you could print out larger than the given A4 proportions if necessary, or even use the images as a basis for a IWB resource.

Simply print, cut and fold the 3 page pdf file so the doubles/half numbers are back to back. Have fun.

My Year 2 class LOVE these -

My Year 2 class LOVE these - great for doubles and halves! I have cut, glued and laminated them back-to-back and put each pack in a Ziploc bag. Each morning while they wait for the register, they do different numeracy activities and this is always a favourite. I leave a bag on each table and allow them to experiment. Once all tidied away, I ask doubles or halves questions to see how much they've gained from the 5 minutes and each time I have seen all children make great progress. Thank you!

 Very useful with my 1:1

Very useful with my 1:1 children. I've cut around each dinosaur, laminated them and put velcro on the back. We then spread them out on the table, matched the doubles/halves and stuck the dinosuars back together. Fiddly to cut out but great fun!

Claire, That's a great idea.

Claire,

That's a great idea. I love the thought of reassembling the dinosaur pieces so the doubles and halves are back to back again. Thanks for your comment.
