# Fish for 5 - an Early Years Maths Game

We've been thinking about Number bonds again. This teaching game is designed for the Early Years and focuses on giving children plenty of practice working with number bonds to 5.

This maths game is similar to our popular Bonds to 10: Rocket Game. Here though we have chosen a nature theme, the board (and the digit cards) have fish and bubbles illustrations.

See the Bonds to 10: Rocket Game for full details of how to play.

The pdf file (attachment below) includes the Fish for 5 Game Board, a set of 0-5 number cards and play instructions.

### Thank you for your Rocket

Thank you for your Rocket Game for number bonds to 10 and the Fish Game for numbers that make 5.  I have a mixed year 1 and 2 class, but the range of abilities is huge, so I can adapt the number bonds to 10 for the higher ability but the children who are still struggling on pairs to 5 will feel they are doing a similar activity.

### Great resources - so many of

Great resources - so many of the children engage much more enthusiastically with maths when in the format of a game - I'll be trying this one out next week with my SEN group.

A great wee activity to add to my group maths bucket containing activities they work on independently. Very nicely presented too. :)

### Perfect for the child I work

Perfect for the child I work with - just the right amount of 'play' appeal to be fun whilst really reinforcing those number bonds.
